The Conservatory Package is the best way to take music lessons at ISP.
This package consists of a 1 hr group solfège class plus a 30 or 45 min private instrumental lesson (45 min private instrumental lessons are for students entering at least their 3rd year of study).
While working with a teacher one-on-one allows students to learn the technique and repertoire of their instrument, solfège teaches students the basics of any music education: note reading, rhythm, music theory and singing; in short, the musical alphabet and how to read it proficiently. Students are placed in their solfège group according to their level. A placement test will be offered to students having studied before. The placement test will take place the 2nd week of September at the ISP Ranelagh campus.
Each student enrolled in the Conservatory Package will be offered two performing opportunities per year in a beautiful Parisian concert hall. The first concert will take place in February before ski break and the second concert will take place mid June.
This program also prepares students for the non-mandatory Associated Board of the Royal School of Music Exams (ABRSM). The Conservatory encourages all students to prepare for these exams as they give a tangible goal to achieve and motivate students throughout the year. The ABRSM is the most internationally recognized music examination organization. Follow the link to learn more about ABRSM Aural Prep class part of our Saturday Conservatory.
